| About Laurie Ann March ![]() Laurie Ann March is an avid backpacker, hiker, and wilderness canoeist. Her first nature experiences were shared with her big brother, Bruce, who backpacked and hiked all over Canada throughout his life. Laurie's relationship and wilderness experiences with her brother instilled a deep respect for nature and love of the outdoors in her. The outdoors isn't merely a hobby for Laurie it is her passion. She is an instructor of a wilderness cooking course in which she teaches and supports students who are learning the special skills needed to prepare food for wilderness excursions. Laurie enjoys her work as owner and editor of the popular outdoors e-zine www.OutdoorAdventureCanada.com. Laurie is not just an author and outdoorswoman; she is also a mother, wife, artist, and photographer. Laurie lives in Ontario, Canada, where she backpacks, hikes, and paddles with her husband, Bryan, and her son, Tobias. Seeing nature through her son's eyes is one of her greatest rewards. A note from Laurie When A
Fork in the Trail was written I was still teaching an online wilderness
cooking course. Because all of the information is available in the book
I have decided to discontine the online course, however I will still
be hosting live workshops from time to time. My
thanks goes out to all of my students. I enjoyed helping you learn about
cooking for your backpacking and paddling trips and I learned a great
deal from all of you as well. |
